The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has officially announced an exciting career development opportunity for female candidates in the state. Under the World Bank-aided Himachal Pradesh Power Sector Development Program, HPSEBL is inviting applications for a structured one-year apprenticeship training programme. This initiative is designed exclusively for women, aiming to boost female representation and technical expertise in the power sector.

With a total of 98 seats distributed across nine distinct professional disciplines, this apprenticeship provides a solid foundation for young female graduates and professionals. Selected candidates will receive a competitive monthly stipend of ₹12,300 during their training period. HPSEBL Apprenticeship Vacancy & Educational Qualification

To ensure a smooth application process, candidates must carefully check the educational requirements for their respective fields. The board has laid down strict guidelines: qualifications obtained through distance learning, part-time courses, or correspondence modes will not be accepted. Only regular, full-time degrees or diplomas are eligible. If your academic institution uses CGPA or letter grades, you must convert them into an equivalent percentage according to your university's official conversion formula before filling out the form.

Note that candidates can apply for only one trade or discipline. Submitting applications for multiple disciplines will lead to immediate rejection of all submissions. If seats in any specific discipline remain vacant due to a lack of eligible candidates, HPSEBL reserves the right to reallocate those seats to other disciplines to ensure maximum utilization of the training program.

Age Limit and Relaxations

The age criteria and educational qualifications are calculated strictly as of 31 May 2026. Candidates whose final results are still awaited are not eligible to apply. Additionally, individuals who have already completed an apprenticeship elsewhere or have acquired one year or more of professional work experience after completing their degrees/diplomas are excluded from this program.

Training Locations & Station Preferences

This apprenticeship is highly localized, allowing candidates to undergo training close to their home districts within Himachal Pradesh. The training seats are distributed across 15 key locations. Candidates can indicate up to three preferred training stations in their application form in order of preference. Allotment of these stations will be based strictly on merit and the availability of vacant slots at the chosen location. If no preference is specified, HPSEBL will allocate a station randomly.

Selection Process

There is no written examination or personal interview for this recruitment. The selection is entirely transparent and based on a merit list prepared from the academic scores of the candidates. A total score of 100 marks is calculated based on the marks obtained in the essential educational qualification required for the applied discipline.

Once the initial screening is complete, HPSEBL will publish the list of shortlisted candidates on its official website. Individual call letters or emails will not be sent, so candidates must regularly check the official portal. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for document verification in a ratio of 1:4 (four candidates called for every single vacant seat), where they must present all original academic certificates, identity proofs, and category certificates.

In case of a tie in the merit score, the older candidate (based on date of birth) will be ranked higher. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher marks in their Matriculation (Class 10) examination will be given preference.
